Stuart lives in Wigan with his partner Caroline. He joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015 shortly after the end of the coalition, realising that the LibDems where actually the voice of reason during the previous government. He has always had a strong desire to help others, even those he has never known personally, it was at this point he realised the opportunity to help more people had been presented to him. However, not long after joining the local party it was apparent a lot of work was needed to get it in a position where it could be a viable contender to win council seats and even a decent shot at winning a parliamentary seat. Not deterred by this task or any task placed ahead of him Stuart began on a quest that would require him to learn new skills and interact with the public like he had never done.
Since 2015 Stuart took part in various campaign launches, leaflet delivering and canvasing both in Wigan and Manchester, he has encouraged exceptional growth in the local party. Stuart has been involved with meeting new members and welcoming them to the party, hoping to understand the individual reasons for new members to join allowing them to use their own determination to benefit the party. Stuart has since acted as emissary for the younger party members to help the establishment of a Liberal Youth society within the local college and has reached out to other colleges to provide them with the opportunity to have their own students become more politically involved.
Outside of his political aspirations, Stuart is an expert in the I.T. profession working in various business sectors, he specialises in IT forensics, compliance and cyber security. He received his first-class BSc from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013 before starting his professional career.
Stuart, like many in Wigan at the time, was born in Billinge Hospital. He grew up with his parents, his older brother and sister not far from Wigan infirmary. He went to Mab's Cross Primary and later Deanery Secondary school. It was in this early stage of his adult life that the importance of politics became apparent. His father actively tried to communicate with the local council to help better the community himself and the regular frustrations in doing so became apparent. It was at this point Stuart learnt that to truly fight for those around you, you have to become politically involved. Living in Wigan his entire life, Stuart can strongly empathise with its residents. During his campaign for local council, Stuart spoke to many of the residents who drew strong connection with him for the needs of the ward and town. Despite not winning the election Stuart continues to work with the residents and helping them when necessary with whatever concerns they have and continues to build strong support for himself and the Liberal Democrats.
When Stuart is not working hard for the community he can often be found in his home workshop, where during his free time he works on wood crafting. Stuart has a special appreciation for the outdoors and wild life and often brings his hobbies together building homes for animals.
