Daniel J Simm
Your Liberal Democrat Candidate for Abram
I was born inside Billinge Hospital to a working class family of soldiers living in Ince. We moved to Platt Bridge in 2002 and I have lived there most of my life since. I joined the Liberal Democrats last year when I became disenfranchised with the political system in our country and I believe it needs change. The Lib Dems are the
people to do it.
Since the age of 17 I have worked as a radio presenter, and across the country, Weston Super-Mare, Southend on-Sea, and London. When away from home though, I always craved being back home Wigan.
My hobbies include film making, I'm currently developing my passion project movie based on my mum's experience at Wigan Casino as a teenager in 1970s Wigan. I also love photography and I'm sure the various community groups I'm a member of constantly see me posting photos of trees and spiders!
The facilities and chances I had growing up in Abram Ward do not exist anymore. There are young people with nothing to do and nowhere to go and this has led to an increase in crime and antisocial behaviour. I want to ensure that our community secures the future of youths growing up in Abram and therefore reduces crime and antisocial behaviour.
I am passionate about these issues. I pledge that I will be approachable, honest and as a councillor I will do all I can to be the true voice of Abram Ward on Wigan Council.
